Taking note of what I've learned in my Biology classes, as soon as blood leaves the body it undergoes a massive temperature shift, add in a change of seasons and blood starts to crystalize during midfall before hit pavement. What you see below is the result of Nature's work and the body's ink. Like a splatter of tears. Again, to add more effect than my words could, I've included the photo below
