Improv. 3 (Week 6) Elegy Practice

Figured I get some more practice with elegiac writing.

If Mary found this letter

She'd send me home,
where they plaster people in
white like Michelin men.
Not realizing that numbers
all over the walls were
me just counting syllables.

The Stretching and bending
corners around space was
practice for the real moment.

The picture of  Daisy tucked
under crumbs of Time held
steady. Quietly tightening
The words I left.
