Critical Commentary (Week 7)

Today's critical commentary will be focused on Wednesday's class. I think in retrospect, I think having the Megan Sexton visit on Monday really added another dimension to our classroom discussion. Talking about trying to ingest a piece that has more than just sound and how it adds a deeper context to the piece. I think it resonates with me, not just because of the performance poetry, but because i think it would add another dimension to how one could draft a piece grounded in the five senses. It would be hard if only because you would have to avoid the cliches and the telling aspect of writing. To all the five senses would have to be the focus of the draft, or at least the underlying parts of the draft to contribute the overall narrative.
