A draft in progess. Improving off of Emily Dickerson's "I died for beauty but was scarce."
I miss drudging through waste,
molded limburger, fractured
pages spurned into ash. I miss
pages spurned into ash. I miss
piles of ambition crushed
by crackling bones.
The fluid seeping into socks
from last rain and fast prayers
Inhaled.
